Dates: 2019 Role: Co-founder
Co-founded with a group of friends, and led development of open-source scientific tooling. The motive was plain rather than strategic: the team wanted these tools to exist and nobody was making them. Across the portfolio, projects have collectively gained 5,000+ GitHub stars and 20M+ downloads, with several adopted into larger ecosystems (Keras, TensorBoard, conda-forge).
What the role covers
Being a co-founder here means wearing every hat the work requires:
- Full-stack software development — building and shipping the libraries themselves
- Software engineering — maintaining them long enough to matter, and getting them into ecosystems like conda-forge, Keras, and TensorBoard
- Data science — the ML tooling line: PyCM — Multi-Class Confusion Matrix Library, O, Memor — Conversational Memory Across LLMs
- User research — running studies on the tools and updating them on what the studies showed, most directly with Nafas — Breathing Gymnastics Application
- Technical writing — the reports that document the tools and make their reasoning inspectable, e.g. A Literature Review on Rater Agreement Metrics
